Window into the past

It all started with a picture by a Hungarian photographer on the Internet that fascinated me incredibly. As a “picture in picture” it showed an old Budapest photograph integrated into a current picture at exactly the same point of view.

It took a while before I decided to try out the vivid representation of the past. In my hometown Idstein - a former Nassau residential city in the Taunus - there were and still are enough historical photos and the city was neither hit by war nor by large fires, so that there were ideal conditions for the implementation of this idea.

So the project started and the name "Window into the Past" was born. That was in 2014 and since then 5 perpetual and one annual calendars have been created in Idstein.

Calender

There are already five Idstein calendars and in the course of the year there will be at least one more Idstein and also a Wiesbaden calendar. There is enough material for implementation.

Some large-format murals from the calendars decorate the walls in an Idstein coffee house. Some canvas prints have also been bought by private customers.
